I already posted about this on my own blog site, but wanted to take my thoughts to this discussion forum for some interaction. Please see my blog for actual argument, but basically my argument is that the Qur'an does not teach that the Holy Books themselves have been changed, but rather that historically there were some Ahl al-Kitab (People of the Book) who were misrepresenting their faith, specifically their Holy Books, and giving false interpretations and false sayings and attributing these to their Book or saying that this was also from God, etc. But according to the Qur'an, in all of these cases, it was something done in word, not by changing actual text.
